Process
- Choose the listing role and upload the approved source.
- Describe only the scene, crop, lighting, and placement to change.
- Generate one representative candidate before scaling variants.
For Shopify merchants and ecommerce creative teams: start with one owned or licensed product photo plus a listing role.
Acceptable result: a product-image candidate that can be checked against the source, exported, and assigned to a Shopify media slot.
The retained 1K PNG benchmark charged 8 Credits; the live Studio quote is authoritative.
Use AI product photos for Shopify when you have an approved product source and need directed hero, detail, lifestyle, or campaign variants. Generate one listing role at a time, keep the product and variant identifiable, then review packaging, color, crop, file format, theme display, and channel rules before publishing.
Generation cases retain the input, settings, and historical cost; local audits retain the inspected file and every observed check.
Input
OutputModel: Nano Banana 2 Lite
Accepted after a full-size side-by-side review. The blue glaze, brown rim, cup opening, straight-sided silhouette, foot, and unbranded surface remain recognizable; only the set, crop, lighting, and shadow changed.
This is one controlled production run, not a guarantee that every product or retry will preserve identity. Rights, color accuracy, marketplace fit, and export metadata still require human review.
Observed failures
A Shopify product page usually needs several images that answer different questions: what the item is, which variant is shown, how large it feels, how it is used, and which details matter. Write one job for each slot before generating. The primary pack shot should remain factual and easy to compare with the offer. A lifestyle or campaign image can carry more art direction, but it still cannot invent an accessory, claim, ingredient, material, or quantity. This page opens the product-photo workflow with the source, scene brief, output settings, task, and returned asset connected.
The retained input is a square photo of one tall blue ceramic cup on a plain studio background. Nano Banana 2 Lite received a warm limestone-pedestal brief, soft daylight from the upper left, a subtle contact shadow, no added text, and no props. The 1024 × 1024 PNG cost 8 Credits in that recorded run. Full-size review accepted the blue glaze, brown rim, opening, straight silhouette, foot, unbranded surface, and single-product count. The set, crop, lighting, and shadow changed; the product evidence remained recognizable.
The workflow is strongest for rigid products with a clear silhouette and an approved source: ceramics, packaged goods with legible reference artwork, simple home accessories, bottles, small electronics, and products that can be isolated from their original background. It is less reliable when transparent material, mirrors, jewelry prongs, woven patterns, small regulatory text, variant-specific colors, flexible garments, or partially hidden components are identity-critical. For those products, keep the exact detail in a conventional photograph or composite rather than trusting a generated reconstruction.
Use a consistent aspect ratio for images that appear side by side, and test the actual theme container on desktop and mobile. Keep the same approved source, product position, color reference, and naming convention while changing only the intended scene variable. Export a factual primary image, then create detail, scale, use-case, and lifestyle candidates separately. Shopify supports several product-media formats and creates display variants, but theme behavior still determines the visible crop. Alt text should describe the real product and view, not repeat promotional keywords or describe details the image does not show.
Compare every candidate against the approved product record at full size and thumbnail size. Reject changed logos, letters, seals, handles, caps, seams, dimensions, material, variant color, product count, and included accessories. Check the final file rather than the Studio preview: dimensions, orientation, compression, transparency, and metadata can change downstream. A Shopify-ready image is not automatically suitable for Google Shopping or another marketplace. Run the channel-specific check against the exported asset and preserve the required provenance metadata for generative work.
Treat the visible Studio quote as the current estimate because model pricing and selected settings can change. The controlled cup run used one 1K PNG output and 8 Credits; four outputs, higher resolution, or another route can quote differently. Approve one representative result before creating a large set. For a catalog, sample difficult shapes and label-heavy products first, record rejection reasons, and stop the theme if fidelity failures repeat. That creates a measurable decision: keep the scene recipe, revise the source or brief, or return the product to conventional photography.

Generated images remain review candidates. Product identity, variant accuracy, trademarks, claims, rights, color, accessibility, theme crop, and channel approval require a human owner.
Open the campaign plan or Studio, review the current quote, and use pricing only when the workflow fits.
