TikTok Ad Size and Safe-Zone Checker
Preview a TikTok ad inside a 9:16 frame, inspect real video dimensions and duration, and keep text and products out of common interface zones.
Direct answer
This free checker shows where TikTok's interface can cover a vertical ad. Upload a creative, inspect the safe-zone overlay, and adjust headlines, products, or captions before export. It runs locally in the browser, gives a visual warning rather than a platform approval, and hands approved files to the Yito Studio when you need a corrected version.
The file stays in your browser.

PREVIEW THE FILE, NOT JUST THE EDITOR TIMELINE
A vertical ad can look perfect in an editing application and still lose its headline, price, subtitle, or call to action under TikTok interface controls. This free checker loads the selected video locally, reads its actual encoded width, height, aspect ratio, and duration, and displays it inside a vertical preview with a conservative safe-zone guide. It does not upload the file. The purpose is to catch delivery mistakes before an ad reaches trafficking or client review. The guide is intentionally visible over the creative so designers can judge the final exported file rather than relying on a template that may have changed earlier in production.
WHAT IS CHECKED AUTOMATICALLY
The tool recognizes TikTok's standard 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 ratios, checks the current non-Spark in-feed minimum dimensions for each format, reads duration and file size, and reports the selected container type. The vertical baseline is 540 by 960, square is 640 by 640, and horizontal is 960 by 540. The broader advertising policy still requires five-to-sixty-second ads in the markets to which that policy section applies, while individual products such as Spark or auction formats can publish different limits. The browser cannot prove that audio is clear or motion is meaningful, so those checks remain manual.
HOW TO READ THE SAFE ZONE
Keep essential words, faces, product details, offer terms, legal qualifiers, and the main CTA inside the dashed central area. Treat the outer bands as occupied even when a desktop preview looks empty. Usernames, captions, engagement buttons, music information, and device-specific controls compete for those pixels. Decorative texture can extend to the edge, but information required to understand or legally qualify the offer should not. Watch the whole clip because animated captions and moving products can cross the boundary after the opening frame. A safe first second does not guarantee a safe final frame.
A BETTER VARIANT STRATEGY
Do not resize one finished horizontal ad and call it a vertical version. Build 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 outputs from a shared campaign brief while preserving composition rules for each format. In vertical creative, place the product and hook early, reserve lower space for interface elements, and use open captions that remain readable without sound. In square and horizontal variants, recompose rather than adding empty bars. Yito Campaigns treat each ratio as a tracked item, so an agency can compare hooks and languages without losing which source, model, cost, or approval belongs to each exported file.
CHECK DURATION WITH CREATIVE INTENT
Passing a numeric duration range does not make an ad effective. For a fifteen-second product ad, the first two seconds should establish the hook and product, the middle should demonstrate a benefit or proof, and the ending should make the next action obvious. Remove long logo intros and repeated setup. If the claim needs qualification, reserve enough on-screen time for a person to read it. Use the free UGC Ad Script Brief Generator to create a hook, problem, demonstration, proof, and CTA sequence before generating variants. Then return here to test the encoded exports rather than the script document.
AUDIO, CAPTIONS, AND FUNCTIONALITY
Play the preview with sound. Confirm that audio begins intentionally, speech is understandable, music is licensed for the account and placement, and captions match the spoken language. Look for silent exports caused by a disabled track, captions cut by the edge, frozen sections, black frames, and end cards that disappear too quickly. A valid container can still contain a functionally broken advertisement. This checker does not inspect copyright ownership, ad claims, landing-page behavior, or TikTok account eligibility. Those remain part of human compliance and trafficking review.
TEAM HANDOFF WITHOUT FINAL-FINAL FILES
Name files with SKU, hook, ratio, language, duration, and version. Store reviewer comments against the exact item rather than in chat screenshots. If a client requests a change, create a new version and retain the earlier decision instead of overwriting history. A Campaign workspace turns a group of isolated checks into a repeatable workflow: upload the product and brand rules once, generate ratio and language variants, inspect safe zones, collect approval, and export the accepted package. The free checker is the acquisition entry point; the paid value is reliable batch production and accountable delivery.
What to keep in mind
The selected video is represented by a temporary browser URL and stays on the device. Closing or refreshing the page removes that preview. Very large files can be slow to decode, especially on mobile hardware. The dashed overlay is a conservative planning guide, not an official pixel-perfect representation of every TikTok interface or device. Always compare critical campaigns with current official ad-format requirements and a live platform preview. If a result warns about ratio, resolution, or duration, return to the source sequence and export again; repeated transcoding of an already compressed ad usually reduces quality without fixing composition.
